Following a successful launch of our Diabetes Virtual Summer Camp, we are back with the Diabetes Virtual Fall Camp, now partnering with the American Diabetes Association.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our daily lives, virtual experiential learning plays an important role in educating our next generation of physicians and scientists. Diabetes affects more than 34 million Americans, and the current pandemic has taught us that diabetes is a critical underlying condition that increases the risk of COVID-19 related complications and death. The urgency to find a cure for diabetes has never been greater.

The Diabetes Virtual Fall Camp is intended to offer valuable insights into current diabetes research and treatment and invites college and high school students interested in pursuing a career path in science and medicine. Our Experts are leading diabetes researchers and clinicians from 10 reputable universities across the U.S., and they will share their perspectives on exciting research programs and paradigms, clinical care and therapeutics, and winding path to a rewarding academic career. There will be additional presentations on the basics of diabetes and investigative research and preparing for medical and graduate school. Our mission is to provide a virtual experiential learning program for college and high school students in efforts to stimulate their passion for science, research, and medicine.

The COVID-19 pandemic has far-reaching consequences including economic impact that will likely fracture our nation’s ability to fund important scientific and medical research. This will also affect training of our future scientists and physicians, and our scientific knowledge will fall further behind, jeopardizing our well-being in future outbreaks. To that end, our shared mission is to raise valuable funds, and your generous contributions will be donated to the American Diabetes Association to support diabetes research, education, and care.
